Should Have + Past Participle


Should Have + Past Participle

'Should' is the past tense of the word 'shall.' When using the words 'should have' you are talking about something in the past that you 'ought to' or 'might have' done.

He should have done  that = it was a good idea for him to do it; it was the right thing to do.
More examples:
You should have gone there.
You should have married her when you had the chance.
You shouldn’t have made the mistake.
Ana shouldn’t have insulted her friend.
You should have been a good teacher.
Steve should have used skype.
