Some Common Expressions For Speaking

Today I’ll explain some common expressions that are used very often in speaking.

Expression 1:  “twenty four seven” (24/7)

24/7 is an abbreviation which stands for "24 hours a day, 7 days a 

week" like every minute & every second (always).

Example: you can access this website twenty four seven.

That means you can access this website anytime you wish.

Expression 2:  at a stretch

It means continuously; without stopping

Example:   

1. We all had to do eight hours of duty at a stretch.

2. The baby doesn't sleep for more than three hours at a stretch.

3. I can't concentrate for more than 15 minutes at a stretch.
